Oldtown Musical Instruments was founded in 1974 by Douglas O'Dell, with a desire to produce high quality musical instruments in a market then largely dominated by foreign imports. We began making F5 mandolins in 1979 and patterned them after F5s made by Lloyd Loar back in the 1920's. Much of our building technique was derived through our close association with Gibson's custom carved division in Kalamazoo Michigan.

All Oldtown Mandolins are hand tuned and consistently have the bark and sparkling tone mandolin players have  come to expect from a high quality mandolin. Please take a look and learn more about Oldtown Musical Instruments.
