A fireman and I created and painted the ships logo,  we just started Escorting Explosive carriers to the Golden Gate .
That was rime if not reason for the “Hot Shots”.

Navy C3 brought out of mothballs to shuttle
ordinance to VNN.  We escorted them from
Port Chicago to the Pacific. We had a couple
of run-ins with protestors that didn’t
amount to much
