MODOC 2007 REUNION

WMEC 194 Cutter MODOC crew and friends:  Our annual reunion on board the luxury yacht Modoc Pearl (ex-USCGC Modoc) will take place Saturday afternoon, September 29, 2007 in Gig Harbor , Washington (across from Tacoma .)  This will be an informal no-host get together:  b.y.o.b.- snacks will be provided (no full scale meal this year.)  Start coming aboard early afternoon and we’ll close down in the early evening.  Bring your photos, etc.  However, we have not heard from Modoc’s owner as he has the Modoc Pearl up north, but we are assuming that Modoc will be back in time. As the date draws near and you would like to verify the date call Joe Peterson.

SPECIAL PRE-REUNION:  Some of you may be aware that an effort to preserve the sister of the Modoc, WMEC 202 COMANCHE is underway, organized by a committed board and volunteers made up of former Modoc and Comanche crews and interested parties.  On Friday, September 28, the day before the Modoc reunion, Comanche will be open for visiting from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Port of Olympia docks on the Budd Inlet (down town Olympia), just follow the signs to the Port from I-5 and head for the dock – you can’t miss her – see looks like Modoc did years ago!  If there is a guard at the Port gate just tell them where you are going.  Comanche is still 60 to 70% of her original condition as the Coast Guard left her in 1980…. it will be dejvu for the Modoc crew!  We’ll light up the ships generator for power and put on the coffee – bring your cameras!  Come see the Modoc’s twin on Friday and then the “resurrected” Modoc on Saturday – sort of a ‘before and after’ event.

RSVP – please let us know if you are coming to either or both on board events, Friday and/or Saturday.  Thanks so much.
